Overview

Savage Bean Coffee Co. is a Michigan-based small-batch sustainable coffee roaster. They had a strong local following, but struggled to sell their beans online due to the lack of clear messaging for an intuitive purchase flow. Their main goal was to make coffee bean sales (and subscriptions) online.

In the first month, the new site saw online revenue jump by 600%. The approach we took blended customer and competitor research with a mobile-first UX design and conversion focused Squarespace build. Every element was designed to answer one question: “How do we turn casual visitors into buyers or loyal subscribers?”.

Optimizing the site for coffee buyers purchasing on their phones with a streamlined navigation, fast-loading pages and clear CTAs.

We restructured the site’s architecture with coffee purchases and subscriptions to be front and centre, added customer testimonials, created newsletter sign-ups and integrated brand content explaining the value of small-batch, ethically sourced beans. We created clear, multi entry points for bean purchases and subscriptions. We also ensured the brand came across in a consistent way in the digital space.
